The bell is located at the foot of the graves of Jethro W. Oates
and Mittie Martin Oates.

John Martin Oates Jr. (author of Roots, Seeds, and Other Things)
and Martin Oates who resides on the Oates home land and maintains
the cemetery along with his wife, Wanda. Interestingly, Wanda is related
to Malinda Pennington (wife of David Cogdell Oates) who is buried here.
